One Developer, Five Games: The OverLKD Studio Story So Far
A one-person studio from Waldbrunn, Germany has shipped three Steam games in under seven weeks and has two more on the way. This is the full public record — shipped, announced, and in submission.
One person, one village, five games
OverLKD Studio is, per its own Steam credits, the developer and publisher of five games — and it is one person, working from Waldbrunn, Germany. The studio began publishing on Steam this year, and the pace since then is the story: a first release in mid-July, two more within the following seven weeks, and two further titles already carrying playable demos. For a one-person operation, that is less a sprint than a fully committed way of working.
This is a profile, not a review — nothing here is scored. It is the public record of what one developer has shipped and announced, and where to find each piece of it.
July: By My Side
By My Side arrived on Steam on July 17, 2026, as the studio's first release. It is an open-world survival and crafting game whose hook sits in the title: a stray dog can join you, if you choose to take him in.
Along the way, a stray dog joins you if you choose to take him in, loyal to the end.
Around that companion, the game asks for the usual survival labor — chop wood, build a home, expand the base — set against harsh seasons and wolf packs in a wilderness that pushes back. The Steam page offers a free demo, and the full game supports co-op, including LAN.
Late August: two releases, six days apart
On August 25 came SlapGains, an action game built on a ridiculous premise played completely straight: train in a neon gym, walk into the arena, and slap your way through five leagues from Bronze to Diamond. Training is rhythm-based — every rep lands on the beat — and progression is written on the body: arms, shoulders, and legs visibly grow depending on what you train. One hit decides a match. The Steam page has a free demo, full controller support, and leaderboards.
Six days later, on August 31, Tidewrack followed. You start with a few logs and a harpoon, pull driftwood from the sea, and build the raft into a floating town — alone or with friends invited straight from Steam. The ocean pushes back: raiders come at night, sharks circle, and somewhere out there a leviathan is waiting. The Steam page carries a free demo, with online co-op and PvP in the full game.
Three shipped games in under seven weeks is unusual at any studio size. The spacing suggests these were finished largely in parallel and cleared for launch in the same season, rather than each one beginning after the last shipped.
Coming soon: INKBORN and PARRYGON
INKBORN is listed as coming soon on Steam, with a free demo already playable. The premise: you wake up inside a comic nobody finished, and an eraser is eating the world from the edge of the page. Your sketchbook is the mechanic — trace an axe and you are holding an axe — but everything costs ink, so every drawn weapon is a trade-off. Up to four players can race the eraser together.
PARRYGON, also coming soon with a playable demo on Steam, takes Pong and folds it into a closed polygon. You defend one run of the wall while rivals hold every other side; parry inside a tight window to charge the orb. Lose your wall and the arena drops that side for good, rebuilding smaller — the room closes in on whoever is left. Split-screen PvP and full controller support are on the feature list.
Both demos are free, like the demos for all five games. For a studio this size, that reads as confidence in the first fifteen minutes of each game.
The Android pipeline
The studio's Android releases run alongside the Steam catalog. Live on Google Play now: WalkPet 2, a step-counter pet game with no GPS routes; BuchPilot, a fully offline budget tracker in production since August 24; and PDF Tools: Offline & Private, an offline merge/split/compress/convert toolbox in production since August 30. Five more titles are in submission as of September 2026 — Tidewrack: Mobile, which per its support page uses short join codes for multiplayer with the world save owned by the host; Slap Gains; Parrygon; and two games known so far only as Signal Depth and Summit Send, with nothing announced beyond the names. None has a release date on the record, and we will not guess one.
Discord first, devlogs everywhere
The community runs through the studio's Discord, which functions as the front line: bug reports land there, and creators can request review keys with the /key command. Devlogs appear on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok under the @overlkd_studio handle (@overlkdstudio on TikTok). The catalog is also browsable on the studio's Steam developer page and its direct store, store.overlkd.com.
A disclosure we would rather make ourselves
One thing should be said plainly, once: every game in ESPORT4YOU's launch library is currently an OverLKD title. That is a fact of how this site started, not a preference, and it does not buy the games kinder coverage — they are written about the way any studio's games would be. The games page shows exactly what is in the library today, our editorial process is documented on the about page, and this profile joins the rest of our coverage in the news section.
